Garden
State Brickface, celebrating 50 years of success, is one of
the oldest and most respected remodeling companies in the
United States .. Founded in 1953 by the grandfather, father,
and uncle of the current majority owner and Chairman/CEO David
Moore, the company has enjoyed a strong reputation for high
quality workmanship, customer satisfaction and strong regional
brand recognition. David joined the company in 1980 after
receiving his MBA from Harvard University. After the family
sold the company in 1989 in a leveraged buyout, the company
went through reorganization in 1991, and Mr. Moore purchased
the assets of the company in 1992. In 1996 the firm
established an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan), whereby
the employees now own one third of the company, with Moore
retaining the other 2/3 ownership. Garden State is listed
as one of the largest (top 30) remodeling companies in the
United States.
David
Moore, CEO and Chairman, oversees strategy, financial requirements
and planning. Cindy Lukas, President and COO, and Doug Jimmink,
President of Sales oversee the day to day operations of the
business. Additionally, the company has established four affiliated
businesses, Garden State Commercial Services, Garden State
Conservatories, Renewal by Anderson and GutterPro. Each business
is partially owned and managed by a former Garden State Brickface
executive, with the majority of each business owned by Garden
State Brickface. These executives have the opportunity to
own part of their own company with the support of the parent
company behind them to share the experience and expertise
of many successful years in business. The businesses
serve the residential and commercial remodeling marketplace
with other products and services, and help trade on the great
reputation of Garden State Brickface. Through these ventures,
Garden State has successfully diversified it's product and
service offerings, and at the same time offered great career
advancement opportunities to key executives.
The
company has over 140 employees, many of them having been with
Garden State Brickface for over 15 years. In fact,
75 per cent of the firm's employee-owners have a relative
in the firm, making Garden State a real "family"
business. As an ESOP company, all employees-owners share in
the success of the company. Garden State Brickface Windows
& Siding creates an environment where employees are treated
with respect and are encouraged to participate in the day-to-day
decision-making of the company. This results in all employees
taking pride in the work that they do. It is truly an equal
opportunity company - career opportunities for women and minorities
have always been an important part of the company.
The majority of our supervisors are minorities and several
of our top executives (including the President/COO) are women,
which is rare in the remodeling industry. The company has
extensive health benefits, wide-ranging training programs,
extensive company events throughout the year, and great wages
and benefits programs. We have extremely low turnover,
underscoring a great work environment and stability in an
industry not known for longevity or innovative employee resource
management. Additionally, the company has always pushed
forward with new technology, and now utilizes extensive computer
applications for all its operations, as well as CD-ROM selling
technology for it's sales representatives.
