Garden State Brickface, the tri-state area's premier building
resurfacing and remodeling company donated their time and
materials to restore the Eighth Ward War Memorial Monument
in Linden, New Jersey. The renovated momument was unveiled
during a memorial service on Memorial day.
“This
monument, which is over sixty years old, brings great pride
to our community as it memorializes our hometown heroes—those
who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country,” said
8 th Ward Councilman Albert Youngblood. “Garden State
Brickface's restoration will enable future generations the
opportunity to honor those memories.”
Garden
State Brickface repaired and restored this monument back to
its original appearance, brickfacing the monument with a replica
of the original brick that was used when it was constructed
over 60 years ago.
“Those
who have served our country deserve to be remembered,” said
Cindy Lukas, President of Garden State Brickface. “We decided
to donate our services because we felt it was the least we
could do for the veterans and their families for the sacrifices
that they made for our country. We understand the importance
of the memorial to the town of Linden and, more importantly,
to the families that lost loved ones.”
