Garden State Brickface Celebrates Fifty Years Of Excellence.
For Their 50th, GSB Introduces The Healthy, Happy and Safe Employee Program.

This year, Garden State Brickface (GSB), the first name in tri-state home resurfacing, celebrates its golden anniversary. Formed in 1953, fifty years have passed since the founding of the tri-state area’s premier building resurfacing and remodeling company. GSB was founded in Linden, New Jersey, by the grandfather, father and uncle of the current majority owner, Chairman/CEO David Moore. Currently based in Roselle, GSB has renovated more than 40,000 homes in the tri-state area.

Over the past 50 years, GSB has earned a stellar reputation as a superb place to work, where the average employee tenure is 15 years. In addition, GSB is an employee owned company—an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan). Employees at GSB are more than just workers: They own a percentage of the company and partake in the company's success. Simply put, as the company prospers, so do the people.

To help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the company’s founding, the GSB team has designed a Healthy, Happy and Safe Employee Program. Every month this year, employees will have the opportunity to take part in these programs which emphasize the importance of health and safety in the workplace and home. This includes “Stop Smoking,” “Weight Control and Nutrition,” “Drug and Alcohol” programs.

“We’re all extremely proud to have reached this milestone,” said David Moore, Chairman/CEO of GSB. “We attribute our longevity to our wonderful employees and, of course, our customers who have supported us throughout the years. We look forward to the next fifty years.”

Over the years, the name Garden State Brickface has become synonymous with New Jersey. Those who grew up in New Jersey in the seventies and eighties, including avid watchers of Kung-Fu Theater and those who remember WPIX’s “PIX” interactive video game, are almost certain to have seen a GSB commercial. But GSB’s reputation extends far beyond New Jersey. Pop culture has embraced the company and it has been featured in a number of films and television shows, including Can’t Buy Me Love and City of Hope. GSB has also done work on movie sets and celebrity homes, including the homes of the former New Jersey Net Derrick Coleman, Joe Frazier, Ivana Trump, I.M. Pei and Oleg Cassini and movie sets for Eraser, Broadway Danny Rose, and Two Bits with Al Pacino.

GSB’s remarkable work has been recognized with top honors and awarded throughout the years. This past year, the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) selected Garden State Brickface, New Jersey’s premier remodeling company, as the “Northeast Regional Contractor of the Year”. They also were awarded the “2002 Innovation in Construction” for both overall facelift and historical renovation.and they were named to the 2002 Top 500 (#30) by Qualified Remodeler Magazine.

“Winning the award from NARI was a great honor,” said Cindy Lukas, president and COO of GSB. “ To be recognized as a regional leader on a national scale is a very prestigious honor. In 2000 we ranked 44th in the Top 500 Companies in the Qualified Remodeler competition, and advanced to 30th by 2002. Our increase in rank and sales volume over the past year is a clear indication of the growth and continuing success of the company.”
