Multiple circular glass atriums in this Jersey City, NJ apartment building created a rigging challenge. The original building construction was hollow block and very porous brick, which caused extensive water infiltration throughout the envelope.

We erected a combination of outriggers and pipe scaffolding to address the building work without affecting or damaging the multiple circular atriums.

We installed new CMU units in the masonry piers, new Decothane through-wall flashing under the brick surrounding the atrium glass, and new copper through-wall flashing at the parapet — a layered waterproofing approach matched to each condition.

Whole-building waterproofing and masonry repair: parapet flashing, atrium and pier base flashing, balcony Decothane coatings, and coping and brick replacement — all sequenced around the building's distinctive circular-atrium geometry.
